About Me

Singing is about FUN!
Growing up, it was all about the Beatles, Barbra, Broadway, and Bruce (and alliteration, obviously).  I  remember staring at his tuchus on my mom’s “Born in the USA” LP waaaay back in the day. Some things just stay with you forever!

Another fave? David Lee Roth. No, I'm not kidding here. I think my love for Diamond Dave is evident in how theatrical I am known to be. But you wouldn't catch me in THOSE types of pants....!

Gradually I came to love classical music, too! After starting formal voice training at the ripe ol' age of 14, I decided to pursue studies at the Boston Conservatory of Music and the Vocal Performance program at Millikin University, where I performed in several operas, master classes (including one with Metropolitan Opera Bass-Baritone Alan Held as well as one with Grammy Award winning soprano Lorna Haywood), and participated in their nationally recognized choral program. Not only that- I performed in a U.S. premiere of a Dvorak opera, alongside the “Little Mermaid” herself, the fabulously talented Broadway diva Sierra Boggess! Singing in the La Musica Lirica’s Young Artist Program’s inaugural year in Urbania, Italy was another huge highlight.

Recent experience includes touring the Midwest with the Lira Ensemble and performing in their Christmas show, as well as performances as a soloist with Opera on Tap Chicago. Recent training includes workshops at Roosevelt University (Dalcroze Eurythmics) and the DePaul University School of Music (Vocal Health Seminar with author of “The Voice Book”, Kate Devore and master teachers David Edelfelt and holistic voice teacher Louise Cloutier).

NATS workshops include speaking voice for singers and commercial vocal styles with Lisa Popeil. Additional studies, research and workshops include Alexander Technique, foreign languages and diction, improv, yoga, musical theatre, CoreSinging (with renowned teacher and author Dr. Meribeth Dayme), voice disorders, holistic voice, and teacher mentoring with David Jones . Schools that I have taught at include Paul Green School of Rock, Dancenter North, the Schaumburg Academy of Music , and Music Land School of Music. I was also the Drama and Voice Instructor with the Fremont, California based non-profit Boldly Me and music/voice teacher at Sterling West.

Proud member of NATS ( National Association of Teachers of Singing),   VASTA, , and the New York Singing Teachers’ Association. I also served as the Executive Director of the Chicago Dance and Music Alliance, a non-profit arts service organization that represented 170 music, dance, and theatre organization. In 2014, I became a Certified Laughter Yoga Instructor (yes, really!)

When I am not singing, I can be found watching horrible movies (big fan of “The Room), spoling my two cats,  digitally curating horrible album covers , and daydreaming of my next travel adventure.
